Congratulations to Tony Mahon, Director for International Development in the Faculty of Education for his successful bid to the EU for Erasmus+ funding.  The 3-year project aims to raise the quality of teacher education programmes in Palestine.

Funding Successes – BA/Leverhulme Small Grants

Congratulations to the following CCCU researchers for their successful British Academy / Leverhulme small grant awards.

Thomas Hennessey, School of Humanities
Project Title: A membership survey of the Ulster Unionist Party in Northern Ireland
Amount: £9,932
Duration: 2 years
Partners: University of Huddersfield, University of Liverpool, Ulster University

The award will support the first-ever membership survey of the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP). Together with the recent DUP Membership Survey, the results will allow the project team to develop the most comprehensive analysis of contemporary mainstream political Unionism in Northern Ireland to date.

Project Title: Mindfulness and associative learning

Mindfulness practice is becoming increasing popular and widespread. However, the effects of mindfulness on human learning processes could be better understood.
The findings from this project should further understanding of how mindfulness interacts with human learning processes, including how it may have differential effects on different learning systems, with the potential to improve behaviour modification methods.
