The Training Gateway Summer Conference – 14th July

Join the Training Gateway on 14th July for this year’s summer conference, hosted by University College London in Kings Cross at BASE KX, an exciting new hub for UCL and the community. The theme of this years event is Innovation in Business Engagement

It will feature interactive workshops on the following: Innovative work with business – case studies from our members Developing a CPD strategy for your institution – where to start? Innovative overseas markets – exploring Eastern Europe

It will also feature a keynote address from a university with a track record of Employer Engagement who will outline one of their recent major initiatives and share their experience. It is also hoped that you will hear from the UK Trade and Investment Education Sector Group on Innovation in Education Exporting and what support they can offer the sector. The day will close with a panel of speakers and workshop facilitators for a thought provoking Q and A session.

There will also be plenty of time for networking and interaction. The day will commence at 10.00am for refreshments and conclude at 4.15pm and the full programme will follow shortly. The cost will be £60 + VAT with a 10% discount for Platinum members. Research Development (RD) is part of the Department of Enterprise, Employability and Research Development. RD is responsible for ensuring that Research and Enterprise is of the highest quality and meets all required internal and external standards, including managing the institutional submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). RD leads on development and implementation of the institutional research and enterprise integrity policies, processes and best practice. It also hosts the institutional Staff Researcher Development Programme and the Early Career Researcher Programme SPARC, and is responsible for the annual Research Internship programme. RD provides strategic and targeted support for academic staff to seek and secure funding for their research and innovation activities. This includes identification of core funding opportunities and support for proposal development, alongside strategic advice and support for faculties to develop their research portfolio and capacity.
