Patients lives to be greatly improved by technology revolutions in healthcare
Winning projects from business and research will collectively receive over £17 million funding to revolutionise healthcare across the UK and deliver better care for patients.
The projects– funded through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund – include developing artificial intelligence for bed availability in hospitals, 3D printing to create tablets and smart phone applications to improve the treatment of complex wounds.

The first wave of successful further education providers to receive Taking Teaching Further funding have been announced.
Skills Minister Anne Milton announced today (12 October 2018) the first successful providers to receive funding from the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme.
Launched in June, the £5 million TTF programme is a national initiative to attract experienced industry professionals with expert technical skills to work in Further Education (FE) and support an ongoing exchange between industry and FE so that students can gain the knowledge and skills that employers need.

Research Methods Training Centre 2019-2024
ESRC is commissioning a Research Methods Training Centre. The centre will have a focused remit on methods training and capacity building. It will be an integral piece of our research infrastructure and will be expected to develop, deliver, and coordinate training activity across the social sciences.
