Launch of new interactive costing tool for industry
The NIHR has launched a new web-based costing tool for industry – which will enable faster and more efficient costing and contracting between the life sciences sector and the NHS during the study set-up phase. The new interactive Costing Tool (iCT) is now available as a module within CPMS – NIHR’s research activity data management system. It includes a number of major improvements over the previous Excel-based version of the costing template. Read more.
New NIHR Patient Engagement in Clinical Development initiative
A new NIHR initiative is bringing patients and life science companies together earlier in the clinical development process. The aim of the service is to facilitate patient involvement before a study’s protocols are finalised to help make commercial clinical research more patient-friendly, and achieve better recruitment and retention in the long term. Research Activity Integration programme – phase 1 go live
Phase 1 of the NIHR Clinical Research Network’s LPMS/CPMS Research Activity Integration programme went live on 1 May 2019. Sending of research activity data that occurred in the 2019/2020 financial year is now automated between the NIHR’s local and national data management systems – benefiting research delivery by delivering near real-time UK wide visibility of research activity data.
