NIHR shares progress on implementation of the Restart Framework – On 21 May 2020, the NIHR published a Framework for the restarting of research paused due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. NIHR and UKRI move to new phase of COVID-19 research funding – The NIHR and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) have announced an evolution in their funding of COVID-19 research, having awarded more than £32 million into urgent research to tackle the acute phase of the pandemic.
As the UK moves through the first wave of the COVID-19 outbreak, the nature of the questions that need to be addressed are changing. To meet the needs of this new environment, the NIHR-UKRI rapid response rolling funding call closed on 30 June 2020, and other funding opportunities at NIHR and UKRI have opened.
