Last Horizon 2020 Health Calls open with a Budget of over €660 Million

The Societal Challenge 1 Work Programme “Health, demographic change and wellbeing” targets health challenges of concern to individuals, Europe and the world. These include rising healthcare costs, the ageing population, the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases and threat of infectious diseases, environmental effects on health, health inequalities, and health and migration.

Despite significant medical and technological advances, Europe still faces many health challenges. In 3 different calls, the newly published Work Programme addresses some of the most pressing issues:

Call 1 tackles personalised medicine, the healthcare industry, global health issues, infectious diseases, and decoding the role of the environment, including climate change, for health and wellbeing.
Call 2 focuses on digital health, and information and communication technologies for active and healthy ageing.
Call 3 addresses digital security and artificial intelligence to ensure health data privacy and protection of health and care infrastructures.

The Health Work Programme contains 37 topics with deadlines between September 2019 and April 2020. Have a look and start organising a consortium!

If you would like detailed information about any of the topics, please watch the webcasted presentations from the European Commission’s recent Open Information Day in Brussels, which are available online. You can also get in touch with your Health National Contact Points.
